Special Event Ages 21 and Over Improv Comedy: Advanced Techniques Ready to take your improv to the next level? Whether you’ve taken an improv class before or you’re jumping in with some performance experience, this course is designed to help you grow as a performer. Previous improv experience is recommended, but not required. We’ll review the core fundamentals of improv before expanding into more advanced concepts, giving everyone a solid foundation to build from. Throughout the course you’ll explore: • Improv fundamentals and scene building • The art of “Yes, And…” • Character development • Emotional commitment • Group mind • Game of the scene • Advanced listening • Physicality and stage presence • Callbacks and pattern recognition • Long-form and short-form improv will be explored in this course Students will be challenged with engaging exercises while continuing to strengthen confidence, creativity, communication, teamwork, and quick thinking in a supportive and ridiculously fun environment. Whether you’re interested in performing on stage or simply becoming a more confident communicator in everyday life, these skills will sharpen your instincts both on and off the stage.
